|
Unlike work experience schemes, students carry out projects which are well defined from the start and have an outcome that is achievable within the time available and which will make a contribution to the work of the host organisation. |

Course Aims
|
Nuffield Science Bursaries offer funded places each year, so that students can get an insight into the world of scientific research. The aim of the Nuffield Bursaries is to give students the opportunity to work alongside practising scientists, contributing to the host organisation's areas of research and development. Successful students are awarded a bursary of £80 per week by the Nuffield Foundation the project must take place over a minimum of four weeks or a maximum of six weeks during July and August. |

Pre-requisites
|
Anyone in the first year of an Advanced or Higher science course may apply. This includes vocational as well as academic courses.There are two ways to apply for a Nuffield Bursary:1) Students can apply for a project set up by the Regional Coordinator.2) Students can find their own research project and apply for a Bursary through the Regional Coordinator with their chosen project.The second option is a more challenging, but also a more advantagious option. |
