Exscitec designs, delivers and manages STEM courses across the year, in-school, after school, weekends, and in the holidays. We provide education enrichment services in the following ways:

Teachers attend some of our student courses, but teacher attendance is mostly optional. Our courses are supported by mentors, typically on a ratio of 1:10, most of whom are undergraduates studying STEM related subjects at Imperial College.

  • Biology Master Classes - half-day sessions

Every day, thousands of people are infected by pathogenic organisms that cause serious illness. Unless the source is identified and steps taken to prevent further infection, an epidemic may result. It is the job of the epidemiologist to track down the source of infection and to advise on the correct course of action. Students will play the role of the epidemiologist. Following a family picnic at a farm, a woman has been admitted to hospital with severe diarrhoea and abdominal pain. The doctor suspects it is caused by a pathogenic bacterium. As trained epidemiologists, the student's challenge is to identify the source of this bacterial infection using modern research techniques including DNA technology, gel electrophoresis and bioinformatics.
